Webinar for Palliative Care Week

As part of Palliative Care Week 2022 (11 – 17 September), Liz Gleeson (Psychotherapist, host of Shapes of Grief podcast) and All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care are delighted to invite you to a webinar that will explore:

  • An exploration of Loss and Grief
  • A look at what the research tells us about grief and how to support people in grief
  • Anticipatory Grief – when it occurs and how to support it
  • Ambiguous Loss – when something is lost, but it’s not always obvious
  • How grief can affect our body
  • How to cultivate a compassionate approach when supporting bereaved people

Liz Gleeson (MA Dramatherapy, MSc Bereavement Studies and MA in Counselling Psychotherapy) is an experienced Psychotherapist and Educator in the field of Grief and Loss and is currently a PhD student exploring the role of compassion in grief support.

Liz is creator of the podcast Shapes of Grief and also offers an Award-Winning online Grief Training Programme for Healthcare professionals. She offers workshops and trainings for a variety of organisations and coordinates two modules on the MSc Bereavement Studies at the Irish Hospice Foundation/RCSI. In 2015, Liz qualified as an Open Floor Movement Therapist, an approach that she uses to inform her clinical practice and she has a particular interest in how grief manifests in the body and how to use our bodies to support the grieving process.
