Niamh Fitzpatrick

Psychologist

A member of the Psychological Society of Ireland and an accredited Sport Psychologist with Sport Ireland Institute, Niamh has degrees in Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Sport Psychology.

Over 30 years in private practice, her work focuses on two main areas; Optimum mental health and Optimum performance.

On the mental health platform, she works with clients around anxiety, depression, grief and stress and is a regular keynote speaker at a wide range of mental health events.

In the performance arena, Niamh works to help people achieve optimum performance in sport, music, dance and business. She was appointed as HQ Psychologist to the Irish Olympic Team for three Olympic Games: Athens (2004), Beijing (2008) and London (2012) and has worked with All Ireland winning teams in GAA.

In her personal life, Niamh suffered an immense loss in March 2017 when her beloved sister, Capt. Dara Fitzpatrick, was one of the four crew killed when an Irish Coast Guard rescue helicopter crashed while on a mission. To share her reflections and learnings from her own lived experience of grief, Niamh has written a booked called ‘Tell me the truth about loss’, her personal story of loss, grief and finding hope.
