Why are Black Mothers Grieving Differently?
Black moms and infants are dying at an alarming rate, much higher than other mothers and their infants from different backgrounds.
We are opening up this conversation to take a closer look at grieving in the black community. Learning objectives:
After this workshop, participants will be able to understand:
1. Typical grieving process after the death of a baby
2. Statistics and causes of black infant mortality
3. The role of faith in grieving as a black mother
4. Explore alternative ways to express grief
5. Ways to support a grieving black mother (providers, family, friends)
