Molly Gleydura

Watson Fellow

Molly Gleydura is a 2022-2023 Thomas J. Watson Fellow, which allowed her to travel to New Zealand, Chile, Senegal, Kuwait, Belgium, Ireland, and the UK over the course of a year exploring how different countries and cultures support children and families before, during, and after the death of a child. Through this cross-cultural study, she investigated societal perceptions and considerations around death and mourning practices, as well as the influential broader contextual factors such as region, spirituality, socioeconomic status, governmental policies, etc.

After her recent graduation from Oberlin College in Ohio, USA with a BA in Psychology, French, and Education Studies, she spent time working with the psychosocial team in the hematology/oncology outpatient clinic at Connecticut Children’s Hospital while becoming a Certified End-of-Life Doula.

In her free time, you can find the Cleveland, Ohio native watching documentaries with friends, checking out local gluten-free bakeries, diving into a new crochet project, or out in nature – always with her camera in hand.
